My research is within the domain of Earth science including geochemistry, atmospheric science, tectonics, and geochronology. I've been involved in projects focused on the uplift history of the Altiplano through stable isotopes (oxygen) of fossil teeth. More recently, I have been doing field work in China and Central Asia trying to constrain timing of deformation in the Pamir (western syntaxis of the Himalayan orogen) through provenance studies and the Tian Shan through stable isotopes. I am also using stable isotope geochemistry throughout Tibet and Central Asia to better understand how climate was affected by the rise of Tibet and vice-versa. I presented a poster at GSA in the Fall of 2009 entitled: U-Pb Detrital Zircon Ages Reveal Paleogene Emergence of Muztaghata, East Pamir, China Download a pdf version of it here I presented a poster at AGU in the Fall of 2006 entitled: High Altitude Dentistry: Understanding Altiplano Paleoclimate and Paleoelevation through Stable Isotopes of Mammal Teeth Download a pdf version of it here My resume (also in pdf) My advisor is Carmala Garzione SIREAL Laboratory Website Department of Earth and Environmental Science Homepage |
